Older BY - LAWS

OF THE

SOUTHERN REGION FAA RETIREES ASSOCIATION

A R T I C L E   I 

NAME 

 SECTION 1.  The name of the organization shall be The Southern Region FAA Retirees Association.

 A R T I C L E     I I 

PURPOSE 

SECTION  1.   The purpose of the Association shall be to establish and promote a program whereby former employees of the FAA may establish new friendships and continue their old friendships with fellow members. 

A R T I C L E   I I I  

MEMBERSHIP

SECTION  1.  Regular membership:  Retired employees of the  FAA, previously employed in the Southern Region or presently residing within the Southern Region. 

SECTION  2.  Special membership:  Retired FAA employees who have contributed to programs of the Southern Region.  

SECTION  3.   Honorary membership:  Spouses of deceased members, dues free. 

SECTION  4.   The annual dues shall be payable on or before March 1st of each year.   The amount of dues shall be established and changed, if needed, at the annual business meeting.  Any member not paying dues for any consecutive two (2) years shall be dropped from the rolls.  Notification will be sent prior to being removed. 

A R T I C L E    IV 

GOVERNMENT 

SECTION   1.  The control and management of the business and affairs of the Association shall be vested in the Executive Committee consisting of the President, Vice President, and Secretary-Treasure 

A R T I C L E    V 

OFFICERS           

SECTION  1.  President:   Shall exercise supervision over all of the affairs of the Association and preside over all meetings. 

SECTION  2.  Vice President:  Shall execute such duties as assigned by the president.  He shall act for the President when required. 

SECTION  3.   Secretary-Treasurer:  Shall keep minutes of all meetings: maintain a current roster of members;  handle such correspondence as requested by the President;  keep an accurate account of all funds received;  disburse funds as directed by President;  provide financial reports as required. 

SECTION 4.    All officers shall serve for a period of one (1) year. 

A R T I C L E   VI 

ELECTION OF OFFICERS 

SECTION  1.   The President shall appoint a search committee each year consisting of a chairperson and two others.  The committee shall submit the names of member/members who have agreed to serve as Vice President.  Nomination may be made from the floor provided the person/s nominated agrees to serve.  Voting may be by ballot of a show of hands.  

SECTION  2.    The President shall convene the annual meeting and after conducting the  business relating to the past year, will introduce the new President.  The first order of business for the new President will be the election of a new Vice President.  Vice President and immediate past President shall appoint a Secretary-Treasurer. 

SECTION  3.   As soon as possible following the annual meeting, the President, a Secretary-Treasurer. 

ARTICLE   VII 

ANNUAL REUNION 

SECTION   1.   The Association shall hold an annual reunion of members.  The place and date of each annual reunion shall be determined  by the President.  Details of the annual reunion shall be sent to all members as early as possible so that members may make plans for attending.

COMMITTEE 

SECTION 1.   The President shall have the authority to establish such Committees as may be required.

MEETINGS 

SECTION 1.   The President shall convene meetings as required.  In lieu of meetings, he may make full use of the mail in obtaining ideas and action on proposals that may be required. 

SECTION  2.    There shall be a membership meeting each year at the annual reunion. 

A R T I C LE   X 

AMENDMENTS 

SECTION  1.    These By-Laws may be amended at any annual membership meeting by the members present and voting.  Members present will constitute a quorum.
